Maquet belongs to Getinge AB and specialises in providing equipment for operating theatres and intensive care units. Listed on the Swedish stock exchange, Getinge AB offers products for surgical medicine, intensive care, care of the elderly and the pharmaceuticals industry worldwide.
Maquet is made up of three divisions:
The Cardiopulmonary division develops, manufactures and markets heart-lung machines, artificial lungs and disposable products for open heart surgery. The company maintains its focus on heart surgery and the extracorporeal circulation required during these operations with products from “Jostra” and “Polystan”. Maquet Cardiopulmonary is headquartered in Hirrlingen and has production facilities in Hechingen, Germany. Maquet Cardiopulmonary began life as Jostra, a company founded by Lars Sunnanväder in 1982 and taken over by Getinge in 2003.
Surgical Workplaces provides equipment such as operating tables, operating lamps, ceiling-mounted equipment and prefabricated construction systems for operating theatres.
The product portfolio of the Critical Care division ranges from anaesthetic and ventilation systems for the operating theatre and intensive care, including software, and essential disposable products right through to monitoring systems.
