The Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and In Vitro Diagnostics Regulation (IVDR) pose major challenges for the companies and sectors concerned. As part of the Forum Health Region BW, the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economics, Labour and Tourism is providing funding to establish an MDR & IVDR Competence Centre. The centre will be set up by the NMI Natural and Medical Sciences Institute in Reutlingen, the Hahn-Schickard-Gesellschaft für angewandte Forschung e. V. and BIOPRO Baden-Württemberg GmbH. Its aim will be to support the implementation of the regulations and any necessary developments. The Competence Centre will offer practical help and advice to the industry to help it meet the regulatory requirements. The overall objective is to increase the competitiveness of companies in the healthcare industry by pooling scientific, technical and regulatory competencies, which is made possible by close cooperation between partners.
