The BW–UK networking evening at MEDICA on November 18, 2026 at the Baden-Württemberg joint booth (G24) in Hall 15 will bring together medical technology companies from Baden-Württemberg and the United Kingdom. The aim is to establish new contacts, exchange ideas and identify concrete avenues for collaboration.
As part of the preparatory programme, an online-event ‘Lunch & Learn ahead of MEDICA: Collaborative R&D funding for healthcare innovation in the UK and Germany’ will take place on 4th of November 2026. There, participants will gain insights and access to a matchmaking platform, which will enable them to find suitable discussion partners and arrange meetings in advance. This will enable participants to establish targeted contacts and build on these relationships in person during the networking evening at MEDICA.
As part of the preparatory program for the BW-UK networking evening, an online event titled ‘Lunch & Learn ahead of MEDICA: Collaborative R&D funding for healthcare innovation in the UK and Germany’ will take place on November 4, 2026. There, participants from the medical technology and life sciences sectors will gain insights into the healthcare sector in Baden-Württemberg and United Kingdom, the R&D funding processes (such as Innovate UK and Eurostars) and best practice examples by company representatives, to initiate BW-UK projects.
To prepare specifically for MEDICA, participants can register on a matchmaking platform (b2match) to find suitable discussion partners, with whom they can then meet in person at the BW-UK networking evening during MEDICA to initiate collaborations.
The evening will be rounded out with some casual networking in a pleasant atmosphere, featuring finger food and drinks, as well as a whisky tasting hosted by our Scottish partner - Scottish Development International.
The event is organised in collaboration with the UK-partners of the BW-UK economic partnership initiative – Scottish Development International, the BW-UK-Office of Baden-Württemberg International (BW-i), the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), Welsh Government – Invest Northern Ireland – as well as the British partner of MEDICA 2026, Medilink UK, and funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Crafts and Tourism Baden-Württemberg.
With kind support of our marketing partner and host of the b2match platform - NRW.Europa/ZENIT GmbH.
As part of the BW-UK economic partnership initiative, which was launched in 2020 by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Crafts and Tourism Baden-Württemberg (earlier: Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Tourism Baden-Württemberg), the British Consulate-General and the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), the aim is to strengthen networking and the development of cooperation between economic regions. BIOPRO Baden-Württemberg supports this initiative together with its UK partners in the health care industry in both regions.
