Fraunhofer-Institut für Physikalische Messtechnik IPM

The Fraunhofer Institute for Physical Measurement Techniques (IPM) develops optical sensor and imaging systems as well as systems based on thin film technology according to customers' specifications. A major focus is the design and development of complete systems, applying also microsystems technology and microoptics. The Fraunhofer IPM develops technical solutions for the rapid and automatic identification of microscopically small objects. Development work is based on know how in optical measurement systems for bioanalytics. Techniques like that can be used for sterility control of transplant tissue. The Institute's analytical measurement systems are used in research and development as well as in industrial process monitoring. The institute offers a broad range of services from technical feasibility studies to robust, tailor-made systems.
