Richard Wolf GmbH

In 1906, Georg Wolf established a factory for electromedical devices and instruments in Berlin. The first endoscopes were developed in cooperation with physicians. The world-famous Wolf-Schindler Gastroscope was invented. In 1947, a new company was established by his son, Richard Wolf, in Knittlingen. Today, Richard Wolf GmbH is a mid-sized company manufacturing medical instruments. It employs a workforce of more than 1,500 employees and maintains a global network of 14 subsidiaries and 130 foreign representatives. Richard Wolf develops, manufactures and markets products for endoscopy in virtually all specialist areas of human medicine. The current product range comprises rigid and flexible endoscopes, endoscopic instruments and devices. Another business segment of the company relates to the Operating Room Management System core nova. This is based on network technology and permits complete and efficient integration of devices and systems – for example intraoperative documentation using the endoscopy camera, professional media management and control of medical devices. Another core competence of the company is extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) and extracorporeal shock wave therapy/ trigger point therapy (ESWT/TPST). A track record of more than 30 years of experience with piezoelectric technology has provided the platform for the development of pioneering and complementary solutions to enhance precision, effectiveness and user comfort.
