mediri GmbH offers services (contract research, software development, project support) in the field of medical imaging. The company’s major focus is centred on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasound imaging, as well as the combination of both modalities. The company has a great deal of experience in developing new measurement techniques (MR physics, programming of MR sequences), their practical implementation (e.g., establishment of the required infrastructure, data handling) and high-quality image processing (software development on the basis of freely available software packages).
In 2004 and 2006, the company won Medical Technology Innovation Awards from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). mediri is using the funds to develop a system that uses ultrasound imaging for the ultra rapid detection of the position of internal organs in order to compensate for movements in real-time. It is planned to use the system in MRI and radiation therapy.
