The objective of the meeting in Stuttgart on 19th November 2010 was to back international cooperation and identify new possibilities for cooperation. Baden-Württemberg international (BWi) and companies from Baden-Württemberg and Singapore operating in sectors ranging from classical medical technology, biotechnology, logistics and consulting, presented their services and products in a series of 14 talks. Prior to the talks, Dr. Ralf Kindervater gave an informative presentation on the activities of BIOPRO Baden-Württemberg GmbH, the central point of contact for life sciences and medical technology companies in Baden-Württemberg.
Due to its geostrategic location in Southeast Asia, Singapore is seen by many as a very attractive cooperation partner. The city-state is systematically expanding its efficient healthcare system, for which it requires high-quality medical devices. Baden-Württemberg is one of the leading locations in the biotechnology and medical technology sector in Europe and is characterised by high innovation potential. These are excellent prerequisites for establishing mutual business relations.
In a very open and pleasant atmosphere, the participants from Baden-Württemberg and Singapore discussed potential collaborations and exchanged contact information. The representatives from the Baden-Württemberg companies also discussed new developments in the sector, as well as existing and future cooperative projects.
The event closed with a visit to Agenolab GmbH and Co. KG in Stuttgart. The delegation was shown around and given information about the company. Dr. Greither (CEO) and his staff were also available for discussions and questions relating to Baden-Württemberg as a company location. The active exchange of information and the prospective of entering into new cooperative relationships were the positive outcomes of the event.
